  1. Editing the header

  3. Use the ‚ÄòEdit header‚Äô item on the Special menu to show the edit header dialog box.
  4. This show the header information contained in the dictionary. You will rarely need to alter these default settings.

  9. This is always ‚Äòdict‚Äô for a pronunciation dictionary.

  11. Format version
  12. Always ‚Äò1‚Äô, apparently, for pronunciation dictionaries.

  14. Script system
  15. The script system under which the dictionary is intended to be used. For Roman script systems, this should be 0.
  16.  
  17. Language code
  18. The language code under which the dictionary is intended to be used. For English language systems, this should be 0.
  19.  
  20. Region code
  21. Ditto, for the region. For the US, this is is 0.
  22.     
  23. Last modified date
  24. No guesses what this is.

  26. You will also see the ‚ÄòTotal byte length‚Äô of the dictionary, which is measure of how much memory it takes when loaded.
