- Editing the header

- Use the ‘Edit header’ item on the Special menu to show the edit header dialog box.
- This show the header information contained in the dictionary. You will rarely need to alter these default settings.

- Atom type
- This is always ‘dict’ for a pronunciation dictionary.

- Format version
- Always ‘1’, apparently, for pronunciation dictionaries.

- Script system
- The script system under which the dictionary is intended to be used. For Roman script systems, this should be 0.

- Language code
- The language code under which the dictionary is intended to be used. For English language systems, this should be 0.

- Region code
- Ditto, for the region. For the US, this is is 0.

- Last modified date
- No guesses what this is.

- You will also see the ‘Total byte length’ of the dictionary, which is measure of how much memory it takes when loaded.
